Exact Structures were appointed by my architect to give feasibility advice on the renovation of a traditional Devon farmhouse, and conversion of a range of agricultural outbuildings to residential use.  I was closely involved with site meetings and discussions with Exact Structures professionals and found them to be helpful, innovative and, most importantly, practical. Their report was delivered on time and on budget. The recommendations and general advice were exactly what was needed.  I would not hesitate to use the firm again.

We have used Exact Structures for the past few years now and I must say, I’m extremely impressed with all aspects of their work. Most importantly for us is having an engineer who comes up with sensible and workable design solutions whilst offering support when required. Exact Structures are our first choice engineer who we highly recommend.

Excellent service: fast, efficient and friendly. Although ours was only a relatively small job, Grenville came at short notice and supplied detailed drawings within a few days. Our builder has found them to be clear and thorough, and to offer a practical solution to what would otherwise have been a complicated and disruptive problem. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Storm Eunice damaged company property whilst we were on the second day of our holiday in the Caribbean.  Our staff sent us frightening pictures and we knew instantly that we needed a structural engineer.  We contacted our architect and he recommended Exact Structures.  We contacted them and they were quickly on the case.  Their service was superb and it would be fair to say that they do not make a drama out of a crisis.  Cannot recommend them too highly.

Highways required a 45m long retaining wall along an embankment at my housing development in Torrington.  My architect recommended Exact Structures based on her previous dealings with these engineers.

Exact Structures dealt brilliantly and professionally with every aspect of the design and all communication with Devon County Council and myself.  The engineers also came up with a low cost sensible design to temporarily retain the embankment during the construction of the retaining wall.

A first class service from this firm. Firstly the quote was fair and Grenville said he would do his best to reduce it even further. I was impressed by the timely manner of turning up to do his work as it was an emergency to keep work going. Grenville worked and sent the works by 7pm that day and work started twelve hours later and finished and the job was finished that day. Having spent 25 years as a builder in California I knew what I wanted from an engineer.  That they would work with me and take into account my knowledge and input of how to get the structure sound and not interfere with the architectural design.

I approached Exact structures about the structural drawings for an addition to my home on Dartmoor and I also got a price for the work from one other engineering company.  Exact Structures were responsive and a third less expensive than the other company. At first I was going to choose the more expensive bid as I hadn’t used Exact before and didn’t want things to drag on or go wrong, or have to fight for what I wanted.

Exact promised they would get the plans done in a couple of weeks, which was attractive in that it meant we could get the building permission going sooner.  This ability to get the plans done sooner than the other engineer, and the conversation I had with Grenville Mann at Exact, persuaded me to use their company.

I have to say I am extremely pleased, they got the drawings and calculations to me on time, they listened to my request to avoid any obtrusive steel members or brackets that would ruin the look that I was after for the addition, and they found away to design it that made sense economically and structurally keeping the architectural look I was after.  So all boxes ticked.

I also enjoyed their openness to my input and an engagement with the total project like it was their own house.
